     1792 LAND PURCHASE: [Culpeper Co, VA Deeds 1792-1794]  Robert Garriott of Culpeper Co, VA, purchased on 16 Jun 1792, from William Jenkins and Ann his Wife, a "Certain tract of land containing One hundred and six acres..... formerly granted to JOHN THOMAS by Patent bearing date the Tenth day of September [1753], "for fifteen pounds current money. Signed sealed and delivered in presence of Moses Garriott.

     1793 WILL PROBATED: [Madison Co, VA Wills, probated 26 De1793] The will of David Yowel was probated. Sons: Elijah, Jacob, Lewis, Rowland, Marshall, Allen. Exec: Henry Lewis, William Chapman, Elisha Berry. Witnesses: William Bradley, Sr, William Yowell, John Klug, Robert Garriott.

     1798 LAND SALE: [Madison Co, VA Deed Book 2, dated 25 Dec 1798] Robert Garriott sold for 75 Pounds current money of Virginia to John Jacob Jesse 106 acres on the waters of Robinson River bounded Top of Long Mountain in line of Patent granted to William Banks...... Recorded 27 Dec 1798.

     1805 PROPERTY SOLD: [Culpeper Co, VA, Deed Book AA/303, dated 22 Oct 1805] Deed mentions Robert Garriott selling half the property once bought from a Joshua Garriott to his brother Benjamin for 150 pounds. Deed was signed sealed, and delivered in the presence of John Lillard, Nancy Lillard, and Rachel Lillard. This property was bordered by John Lilliard.

     1812 WILL: [Culpeper Co, VA Will Bk FF/298, dated 18 Nov 1812]

     1819 LAND GRANT: Robert Garriott received a grant of 50 acres (presumably from the government) on the E Fk (East Fork) of Little Barren Watercourse, Adair Co, KY on 26 Jul 1819.   

     CENSUS:
     1810 Culpeper Co, VA census has a Robert Garriott with 2 Males; one [<10], one [26-45]; and 2 Females; one [<10], and one [26-45], with five slaves, 1001-0100-1005.

     WHAT HAPPENED TO ROBERT AFTER 1810?

     1792 WILL OF DAVID YOWELL: David Yowell Will - 1792 - Madison Co. (Circuit Court Records. v 1, pg 22)  Will of David Yowell, from Madison Co., VA,
     In the name of God, Amen I David Yowell of the county of Culpeper and State of Virginia, being weak in body but of a perfect sound mind and memory do hereby constitute and appoint this my last will and testament. That is say my soul I recommend to Almighty God who gave it me and my body to be buried in a decent manner at the discretion of my Executors here after named,
     And as to my Worldly Estate where with it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me with I will and bestow in the maner and form following; That is to say I will first that all my Just Debts be paid the residue of my Estate thence remaining I do lend my loving wife Elizabeth both real and personal to be by her property during her natural life or widowhood and after her death or marriage to be in Equal distribution between my six sons namely Elijah, Jacob, Lewis, Rowland, Marshal and Allen Yowell, if so be my wife should be pregnant at this time I will the child to become Joint Heir with my other six sons to be to them their Heirs forever,
     I do hereby Constitute my good friends Henry Lewis, William Chapman, Elisha Berry Executors of this my last Will and Testament revoking all former wills and testaments heretofore by me made in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale this third day of October, one thousand seven Hundred Ninety two.
     Signed Sealed & declared his by the Testator to be his David X Yowel {seal}
     Last Will and Testament William Bradley, Sen. William Yowell, John Klug, Robert Garreatt. At a Court held for Madison County the 26th of December 1793, this last will and Testament of David Yowel Deceased was Exhibited in the Court and proved by the oaths of William Yowell and Robert Garriott witnesses thereto and ordered to be Recorded Teste John Walker Jr C MC.
