     MILITARY: 16 Alexander enrolled on 1 Sep 1861, Mercer Co, MO for three years, as a private in Company M, 7th Cavalry Regiment MO Volunteers commanded by BT Humphrey. He was honorably discharged at Sedalia, MO on 1 Dec 1862 by reason of Surgeon's "Ctf." of disability.

     1884 PENSION: 16 Alexander B Lemmons, in a general affidavit, first applied for a pension on 11 Nov 1884, claiming that his horse had thrown him as he was going out on picket guard alone about midnight on the 15th or 16th of Nov 1861. The horse had then fallen on him. He stated that, "His address as required by the pension office is as follows. From May 1856 to Jun 1857, Eaglesville (?), MO. From June 1857 to Mar 1867, Wintersville, Sullivan Co, MO, except from 1 Sep 1861 to Dec 1862 while in the army. From Mar 1867 to Mar 1870 Trenton MO, From Mar 1870 to Feb 1873, Ruraldale (?), MO, From Feb 1873 to Mar 1878, Tindall (?), MO, From Mar 1878 to Apr 1883, Brantford (?), Wash Co, KS and Cuba Republic Co (?), KS. And my present post office address is Tipton, Mitchell Co, KS."
     He presented a subsequent affidavit, on 15 Aug 1885 [claim 513.871, cert. 676.718]. He again applied for a pension on 8 Mar 1907 in Mitchell Co, KS, claiming to be enrolled at Brookfield, MN on 1 Sep 1861 as a private and was honorably discharged at Sedalia, (Pettis Co), MO on 1 Dec 1862. He was 76 years old on 8 Mar 1907, 5'-11" tall, with dark complexion, dark eyes, black hair, a farmer and resident of Cedron, Lincoln Co, KS. He had lived since leaving the service, "In Wintersville (?), MO to Mar 1867; Trenton, (Grundy Co) MO to Mar 1878; then Cuba (?), KS to 1883, then Tipton (Mitchell Co), KS in Jan 1890, then to Harlan (?) and Redmon (?), KS to present time." He claimed, "Disease of lungs and liver, injury to back and chronic diarrhea."

     WIDOW'S PENSION: 16 Sarah Lemmons 74, applied for a pension [claim 888.897] after Alexander's death from Major Co, OK at the age of 74.
