1960 OBITUARY: Sherman S Sawyer Dies Here at 76. Mr Sherman S Sawyer, 76, of Wallace died Friday evening at the family home following a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Eunice Sawyer, a daughter, Mrs Lois Anderson of Longmont, CO. He was a member of the Baptist Church, and was also a member of the Plumbers' Union.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon in the chapel of the Wells Funeral Home. Reverend CT Cunningham of the Baptist Church of Clements will officiate. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.

1982 OBITUARY: Eunice M Garriott Sawyer. A native of Crotherville, IN, she came to Lodi (CA) in 1955 with her husband, Sherman Sawyer. She was a life member of Crotherville Methodist Church in Indiana. Survived by a brother, Morris Garriott and a sister, Mary States.

2005 OBITUARY: Sheri (McKain) passed away at the Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, NV at the age of 51. She was a long time resident of Indiana where she was originally from, including Jeffersonville, IN, Indianapolis, IN, and Columbus, IN. The daughter of Betty (Sublette) Stone and Orval Stone. She married Scott McKain on Nov 20th, 1954. Mrs McKain was formerly an Executive in the Intellectual Property and Licensing Industry. For 10 years she was Senior Vice President of Curtis Publishing Company of Indianapolis, IN, where she had major responsibility of the Norman Rockwell Art Collection. In addition she worked with her husband to build and grow their internationally recognized professional speaking business. She served on the Board of Trustees of the Cancer Recovery Foundation of America. She is survived by her husband Scott after 23 years of marriage, he's formerly from Crothersville, Columbus, and Indianapolis, IN. Also survived by her mother and three sisters, Anita Honhoinewa from San Francisco, CA, Linda Stone from St George, UT and Leslie Spoone from Orlando, FL. And a brother Darren Stone from Las Vegas, Nevada.

2009 OBITUARY: Doris "Nanny" Garriott, 98, of Crothersville died at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at the Waters in Seymour. The funeral will be conducted at 11 am Friday at Adams Funeral Home in Crothersville with Scott McKain officiating. Calling will be from 5 to 8 pm today and from 9 am to service time Friday. Burial will be at Crothersville Cemetery. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Crothersville Cemetery or Crothersville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Polly (Carl) McKain of Crothersville; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two step-great-grandchildren. Mrs Garriott was preceded in death by her husband, Morse A "Noah" Garriott.

She was born October 30, 1926 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the daughter of the late Clifford and Bertha (Gobin) Despain. Rita was married to her first husband: Lee Martin and to her second husband Earl Garriott, who died in 1990. She was a lab technician for Morgan Foods, Inc. in Austin, Indiana for 29 years, a member of the First Baptist Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post # 234 both in Scottsburg, Indiana. Survivors include a daughter: Carroll K. Thompson of Scottsburg, Indiana; two sons: Darrell Martin of Jacksonville, Florida & Ronald Lee Martin of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister: Lavonna Grace Amick of Louisville, Kentucky and a granddaughter: Angie Renee Thompson of Louisville, Kentucky. She is also survived by several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Rita was preceded in death by a sister: Gwenyth Allen Manaugh. Interment at Scottsburg Cemetery.
