     1886 OBITUARY: We regret to learn of the death of WT Bunger. He died at his home in the Gooseneck Bend of cancer. He had been suffering from cancer in the face for some years. In 1884, he went to New Orleans and had an operation performed. The cancer healed up, but in the summer of 1886 returned.
     Mr Bunger was Sheriff of Young County for two years and made a good officer; was a kind and affectionate husband and father and was liked by all who knew him. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn his loss. A good man has gone from among us.

     1951 OBITUARY: Services for Thomas Bunger, 73, were held at the Christian Church in Graham. He was the son of the third Sheriff of Young County. Services were conducted by Rev JE Montgomery of Breckenridge assisted by Rev CF Carrico.
     Tom Bunger was born near the town of Bunger, which was named in honor of his family. He continued to live in Bunger until he retired from ranching in 1950 and moved to Graham. He was one of Young County's most highly respected citizens. He had been a member of the Church of Christ for many years. Tom Bunger married Miss Lillie McLendon on 5 February 1905 at Mountain Home.
     Survived by his wife; two sons - WM Bunger and Frank Bunger; one daughter - Mrs RA Wright; one sister - Miss Valerie Bunger, who has made her home with Mr and Mrs Bunger for many years; six grandchildren.

     1956 OBITUARY: Sarah Frances Bunger, 69, was the daughter of a pioneer West Texas pioneer family. She married WC Bunger and the couple lived in the Bunger community for many years. They moved to New Mexico. She returned to the Caddo Community in 1947. Her husband preceded her in death. Mrs Bunger was a member of First Baptist Church.
     Survived by two sons - James M Bunger and Roy A Bunger; two daughters - Mrs WF Wright and Miss Willie Mae Bunger; two grandchildren; two sisters - Mrs Harold Iles and Mrs Tom Harolson.

​     1958 OBITUARY: Valerie Bunger, 86, moved to the Bunger Community with her parents in her early youth. She had lived in the Bunger community for many years before moving to Graham to live with a sister-in-law, Mrs TM.Bunger. Valerie Bunger moved to Breckenridge in 1951.
     Survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

​     1996 OBITUARY: husband of Dorothy La Verne Lynn. Services for Morris L Stephens, 80, of Graham were held at First Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Graham High School.
     Morris Stephens married Dorothy La Verne Lynn on 8 October 1938 at Graham, Texas. He was a lifetime resident of Graham and a self-employed rancher, oil and gas operator. Morris Stephens was a member of the Texas Cattle Raisers Association and First Baptist Church.
     Survived by his wife; one daughter; one son; one sister - Vera Western; three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother - Wesley Stephens..

     1998 OBITUARY: Services for Emily Florence Wright, 84, were held at Bethel Baptist Church at Prescott Valley, Arizona. Emily Florence Bunger married Wayne Wright in 1933.
     She grew up on ranches near the Bunger Community in Texas and Concho, Arizona. Mrs Wright was a retail clerk in JC Penny Stores. She was an active member of the Baptist Church where she lived. Her interests included flower gardening, church activities and homemaking. She and her husband spent their retirement years traveling in their recreational vehicle and spent winters at Bibleville. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary by going horseback riding and remembering their courting days on the ranch.
     Survived by her husband; one daughter - Doreen McDonald; one son - Dennis W Wright; one sister - Willie Mae Boddie; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

​     1998 OBITUARY: Wayne Frederick "Buck" Wright, 88, died at the Prescott Valley Care Home. He was born in Iowa to James Alexander and Winifred (Stubbs) Wright, and was one of 13 children.
     Leaving home in his mid teens, he traveled west, working as a ranch hand, cowboy, rodeo bull rider, and truck driver. He married Florence Bunger in 1933. She preceded him in death. Mr Wright was a Yavapai County deputy sheriff and a Prescott policeman.

     2007 OBITUARY: Jerry Lynn Rightmer, 57, died March 4, 2007 of Cirrhosis of the liver caused by Hepatitis C in Ventura County, California.
     Graveside services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, March 31, at Ash Creek Cemetery, directly behind Ash Creek Baptist Church, 300 South Stewart in Azle. Directly afterwards, family and friends are welcome to gather at the B..Clark Building, 601 SE Parkway in Azle to celebrate Jerry's life.
     Jerry Lynn was born to Ruby Nelle Lynn and William Carl "Shorty" Rightmer; he grew up in Texas with brother Larry Keith Rightmer.
     He had a love and passion for music, baseball, golf and Harley Davidsons. After recording and touring while playing bass and vocals with such seminal groups as The Sanford-Townsend Band (?Smoke from a Distant Fire?) and Seals & Croft, Jerry began a successful career in the film business, where he was a pioneer in the creation and development of DVA (digital video assist) technology. He has designed and created software titles including StormVision which was a featured product at Showbiz West, and heralded in articles in Variety, Location Update Magazine, and the Los Angeles Times. His newest project, StormVision QV is the first ever multi-camera DVA software accommodating the recording of up to four cameras with one computer system. He returned to live music performances most recently with 10 Horse Johnson.
     Mr Rightmer, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, will be missed greatly by all who loved him. Memories may be posted to http://jerryrightmer.tributeforyou.com.
     Survivors include his wife, Shari Rightmer; children, Darra Rightmer, Alesha Rightmer-Embry, Nash Rightmer and Cade Rightmer; grandchildren, Michael Sean Vackers, Jace Robert Bramlett and William Leck Embry, and many other family members and friends.

     2010 OBITUARY: Willie Mae Bunger Boddie, 83, died Sunday, August 15, 2010 in Graham. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 10:00 am in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Tull of Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Gooseneck Cemetery in Young County under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
     Willie Mae was born on September 30, 1926 in Concho, Arizona to the late William Clinton and Sara Frances (Hughes) Bunger. Most of her childhood was spent in Arizona. When she reached her teen years she and her family returned to their former home near Bunger, Texas. The small community near Graham had been named for her ancestors. Her grandfather, WT.Bunger, served as Young County Sheriff in 1884 when the former courthouse was built. His name is memorialized at the courthouse arch.
     She married Wayland T Boddie, August 7, 1956 in Graham. She moved with him as he worked in the oilfields. They returned to Graham where they lived out the remainder of their lives. He preceded her in death on May 6, 1991. After her husband's death she lived quietly at home. She loved stray animals and going shopping. As a member of First Baptist Church, she lived out her faith by sharing a favorite inspirational poem with those she hoped it would help.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her siblings, Jim Bunger, Roy Bunger, and Florence Bunger Wright. She is survived by a niece, Doreen Wright McDonald of Prescott, Arizona and a nephew, Dennis Wright of Batesville, Arkansas.

     2014 OBITUARY: ODESSA January 13, 1919 – December 25, 2014 -- Jewel Bobo Bunger, 95, of Odessa, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014. She was a beloved mother, wife and devoted Christian. She was a member of the Church of Christ Crescent Park in Odessa.
     Jewel was born in Bunger, Texas to Ira and Della Bobo. She married Frank Bunger on October 10, 1940. She worked for JC Penney for 21 years in sales and as a floor manager. She enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening, reading her Bible and spending time with her grandchildren. Jewel was a member of the Church of Christ for her entire life. Her kindness, integrity, commitment to her church and Christ were a great example for all.
     Jewel is preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin Bunger, daughter Phyllis Prichard and daughter-in-law Kathy Bunger. Survivors include sons Tom Bunger of Denton, Texas; Dale Bunger and wife Rhonda of Odessa; daughter Mary Kay Jones and husband Ron of Cross Plains, Texas; son-in-law Jim Prichard of Odessa, sister Gertrude Ardis of Bryan, Texas; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
     Graveside services will be Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 3:00 pm in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.
