    1984 OBITUARY: Mrs Edna Garriott Burman, 73, of Kentland, died at 2:30 pm Wednesday, 28 Dec, in LaPorte Memorial Hospital, LaPorte. She was born in Rensselaer and had lived in Kentland since her marriage in 1933 to Frank Burman. He preceded her in death in 1982. Edna was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Kentland and was a past member of the Kentland Order of Eastern Star and Pythian Sisters.

    1984 WILL: [Newton Co, IN: Bk 10/525] Edna Merle left everything to her two children Rita Marie Burman Winger and Gerald Allen Burman.

    1993 KILLING: Todd Burman of Delphi was shot while helping another police officer arrest Jack H Lenon at Lenon's home. Lenon, 66, had become abusive during a confrontation with Camden town marshal Steve Jones over high weeds near Lenon's home. Lenon wanted Jones to mow the right-of-way. Burman worked as a paramedic before he joined the Indiana State Police. Burman had been a trooper since 1990. Most of his time was spent in Carroll Co, where he was quickly accepted in the community and by county police officers. Burman is survived by his father, Newton County sheriff's Deputy Gerald Burman of Kentland; his mother, Evelyn Cooper of Kokomo; and stepmother, Linda Burman of Kentland.
