     2001 OBITUARY: Oak Harbor, WA. - Lloyd Clifford Rees died Feb 24, at the Naval Hospital in Oak Harbor.

     Born to Jack Clifford and Betty Jo Garriott Rees in Corvallis, he attended 22 schools growing up as his family moved in connection with his father's career in the Navy SeaBees. He entered the Navy in 1966 and after basic training transferred to the SeaBees and joined his father's team. They served together in Vietnam where Lloyd completed two tours of duty. He transferred to Rhode Island and met Donna Vonslid while on leave in Oregon. They were married Jan 8, 1971, in Lebanon.

     He served in numerous locations and was awarded the rank of warrant officer before his retirement in 1989. The family settled in Oak Harbor where he formed Rees Construction and did construction work. He enjoyed freshwater fly fishing and salmon fishing, crabbing, gathering shrimp and gardening. He built furniture for his home and children.

     Survivors include his wife Donna; daughters Kimberely Linder of Leichester, NC, and Kristina Wyant of Oak Harbor; mother Betty Jo Winniford of Corvallis; sister Linda Shaffer of Netarts; one granddaughter; stepfather Elmer Winniford; and stepsisters Jay Hayden of Corvallis and Jean Gray of Klamath Falls. 

​     He was preceded in death by his father in 1971.

     No formal service is planned. Cremation was held, with a private family service to follow. Inturnment will be held at a later date. Burley Funeral Chapel in Oak Harbor is in chargr of arrangements. Memorial Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

     2019 OBITUARY: Michael Scott Garriott, age 61 passed away peacefully at home, Monday September 16, 2019 surrounded by family and love. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 21 from 3 to 5 pm at Wilkinson Funeral Home.
     Michael was born January 7, 1958 in Eugene, OR, a son of Rod and Beth Garriott of Junction City, OR. He was a Sr. Infrastructure Planner employed with Wells Fargo and was owner of Garriott Woodcrafters. He also proudly served our country in the US Army. Michael loved to enjoy the outdoors with his beloved wife. He enjoyed camping, fishing, shooting, and was quite the golfer in his youth. He loved trips with his wife on their Harley, and he had such a talent for woodworking, taking on many projects for family and business. Michael loved being with his family where they could just laugh and have a good time. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
     In addition to his parents, left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Brenda Redmon Garriott; children, Courtney Montaño and husband, Sam of Eugene, OR, Andrea Cole and husband, Bill of Harrisburg, Erin Biswas and husband, Shouvik of Bristow, VA, Abbie Laird and boyfriend, David Beaver of Concord; Katie Fields and husband, Beau of Ft. Stewart, GA; Keith Garriott of Albemarle, Kori Garriott and girlfriend, Sierra Smith of Concord; grandchildren, Paige, and Cooper Montaño, Anjali, Shyla and Niam Biswas, Braxton Fields, Austin Cole, Danica Regan and Wyatt Beaver; sister, Tammy Johnston and husband, Kevin of Burns, OR; brother, Steve Garriott and wife, Kim of Everett, WA, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
     The family requests that memorials be made to the Community Hospice of Albemarle, 1024 Albemarle Road, Unit 904, Troy, NC 27371.
