     1989 OBITUARY: Funeral Services were at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cicero, IN, where he was a member. Jack and his wife, Mary Kay, owned Ye Olde Pine Shoppe, Carmel, for ten years. He was a corporate pilot at Trust Manufacturing Co, in Westfield for six years and a pilot for the US Marine Corps for 22 years, retiring in 1973. He had been a part of the US Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team. [Indianapolis News] 30      Jack devoted a great deal of time searching out and defining the Garriott and related family genealogy.  Traces of him were found throughout many libraries in Indiana and Kentucky, and information attributed to him has been published in articles and books.

     2010 OBITUARY: Justin Wayne Garriott 56, of Carmel passed away on December 22, 2010. He was born September 11, 1954, in Leavenworth, Kansas to John Garriott and Mary Kleinhenz Garriott. Justin had taught english in China and was employed as a paralegal in Chicago and Indianapolis. He had been a stage manager for Deer Creek Venue and Starlight Musicals. He spoke fluent English, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese and was learning the Japanese language. Justin was a gifted musician and played the guitar. He had a love for surreal and abstract art. Other interest included camping and hiking. He accomplished a goal to hike in Costa Rica. Among many other talents he piloted small aircrafts. Justin was preceded in death by his father, John W Garriott in 1989. Survivors include Mary K Garriott; sisters Jennifer Poynter and Judith Hunt, brother John F Garriott and nephews Ian F Garriott, Zane Garriott, Madison Poynter, Jason Hunt and Kelsie Exposito-Wilcox.      2013 OBITUARY: Mary K Garriott, 82, of Noblesville, passed away March 11, 2013. She was born on June 4, 1930 in Fairport, NY to the late Clarence and Mary Louise Denn Kleinhenz. Mary was a graduate of Fairport High School.
     Some of Mary's work experience included the office at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Church, Ye Olde Pine Shoppe Antiques and most recently the Hamilton County Assessors office. Mary K was proud to be the military wife of John W. while he served in the Marine Corps as a Major and was one of the first pilots to fly with the Blue Angels. The Garriott family traveled extensively during the twenty-two years in the military allowing many fond memories to reminisce. Mary K enjoyed collecting lighthouses and especially enjoyed cooking for her family. She will affectionately be remembered by her children and grandchildren for being able to remove any type of stain by using her "old school" home remedies.
     In addition to her parents, Mary K was preceded in death by her husband, John W Garriott in 1989 and son, Justin W Garriott in 2010. Survivors include her children, John F Garriott (wife Ruth), Jennifer S Poynter and Judith L Hunt; grandchildren, Ian F Garriott, Zane Garriott, Madison Poynter, Chase Poynter, Brittany Poynter, Jason Hunt and Kelsie Esposito-Wilcox.
     A Celebration of Life service will be held in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Noblesville at a later date . In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions are directed to Sr Emilia Marcelo, MIC, Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong, 12/F, #16 Cane Road, Hong Kong. Arrangements and care entrusted to Bussell and Bell Family Funerals.
