     1985 OBITUARY: Delmar L Garriott was born September 5,1928 the son of Virgil & Eva Eckret Garriott. His brothers were Elmer G, Everett, & Fred Garriott. He married Geraldine Willard. Their children were Larry E Garriott, Mark D Garriott, Dennis L Garriott. They had 3 grandchildren.
     Delmar was a 30 year employee of Chrysler Corp. til 1984. He also was an escavating contractor. He was a member of the New Palestine United Methodist Church & New Palestine Lodge 404 F & AM. Delmar died at his home in New Palestine on January 25,1985. Hendryx was in charge of funeral arrangements. Rev Wally Neal was the minister who officiated. He was buried in the Fountaintown Cemetery.

     2007 OBITUARY: Everett Lee Garriott, age 73, died December 26, 2007 at his home in Greenfield. Born on December 10, 1934, he was the son of Virgil and Eva (Eacret) Garriott. Mr Garriott worked for Delco Remy as a Classified Winder for more than 40 years before retiring in 1992. He was also a member of Eden Masonic Lodge and UAW #662.
     Surviving him are his wife, Carolyn Jane (Kemerly) Garriott of Greenfield; sons, Jeff (Lesa) Thomas of Rockville, Indiana and Travis Garriott (Linda Newkirk) of Greenfield; brothers, Gene (Loretta) Garriott of Greenfield and Fred Garriott of Morristown; mother, Eva (Eacret) Garriott of Greenfield; grandchildren, Jennifer Collier, Melissa Frazier, and Brandy Turner; great-grandchildren, David, Breanna, Devon, Kelsey, Daniel, Taylor, Makaylla, Jadyn, and Mason; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his father, Virgil Garriott and brother, Leon Garriott.

     2009 OBITUARY: Morristown- Eva Alice Eacret Garriott, 95, died Sunday, April 5, 2009. Born on Jan 23, 1914, in Jennings County, Ind., she was the daughter of Alva Delmar Eacret and Maddy Miller Eacret. She married Virgil RM Garriott. They were married for over 53 years. Eva worked at a canning factory in Pendleton and Greenfield as a tomato peeler. Later she worked for Indiana Rayon and ran the sewing machines.  Eva was a member of the Maxwell United Methodist Church, which later merged with Trinity Park United Methodist Church, Greenfield.
     Surviving her are sons, Fred Garriott of Morristown and Gene (Loretta) Garriott of Greenfield; grandchildren, Don Garriott, Larry Garriott, Mark Garriott, Dennis Garriott, Denita Raymont, Brian Garriott, Jeff Thomas, Travis Garriott, Kristine Blake, Ted Garriott and Elizabeth Ann Williams. Also, 12 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Delmer Leon Garriott and Everett Lee Garriott; and daughter-in-law, Betty J Garriott.
     Visitation will be Wednesday, April 8, 2009, from 5 to 9 pm at Erlewein Mortuary Greenfield Chapel.
Funeral services will be on 1 pm Thursday at Erlewein Mortuary Greenfield Chapel. The Rev Mike Manning will be officiating. Burial will be at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.

​     2020 OBITUARY: Elmer G Garriott, age 88, of Greenfield, passed away October 18, 2020 at St Vincent Hospital. He was born in Madison County, Indiana on September 26, 1932 to Virgil and Eva (Ecker) Garriott. He graduated from Maxwell High School in 1953 and served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.
     Gene worked for Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Hancock Masonic Lodge #101 and attended Trinity Park United Methodist Church. His love of flying led him to become private pilot and member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). He enjoyed hunting. Gene was also an avid antique car enthusiast. He was a member and past president of the local Ford Model-T Club.
     He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Loretta (Smith) Garriott; daughter, Denita Raymont, and husband Steve; son, Brian Garriott, and wife Jean; two grandchildren, Ella Libonati, and husband Christian, and Cole Garriott; brother, Fred A Garriott; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Leon and Everett Garriott.
     Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W US Hwy 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. The funeral service will immediately follow visitation, beginning at 1:00 pm with a Masonic Service by the Hancock County Masonic Lodge. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield with full military rites presented by the US Army and Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard. Pastor Larry Van Camp will be officiating. As a reminder, masks are required in public indoor spaces, and please practice social distancing.
