1984 OBITUARY: Edward Louis Pyles was born August 28th, 1815 in Cambellsburg, KY, a son ot the late Noble B and Sophia Teague Pyles. He was pronounced absent from his body and present with the Lord at about 3:15 pm on Saturday, February 11th at the Booth Memorial Hospital, having sojourned on this earth for 68 years. On September 11, 1937, Eddy, as he was affectionately known by his many friends, was united in marriage with Doris Northcutt, which union God blessed with two sons and two daughters: Darryl and Rodney Pyles, and Sandra Robinson and Darlene Osborne, Besides his devoted wife and children, he is survived by a brother, George Pyles and a sister, Bonnie Baugh, 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren (all of whom he declared has spoiled him and a host of other relatives and friends.
Eddy served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He was an employee of Union light Heat and Power Company for 35 years, retiring therefrom in 1976. He became a christian at age 35, and with that union with God in Christ Jesus, he formed a union relationship with the Christian Community, where as a dedicated member of the Sherman Baptist Church he served in many capacities. He served as church treasurer, as a leader in Training Union, as a worker with children in Vacation Bible School, and as a Sunday school director for 16 years. He was active in Senior Citizens of Northern Ky in the Senior Center program and the retired Senior Volunteer program (RSVP) ans was Vice President of the Goldenaires Senior Club of Grant County and served on the Senior Advisorsy Council. Eddie's family, other relatives, friends and neighbors are deeply saddened by his sudden passing and he will be greatly missed and fondly remembered, because all who knew him, loved him. He never met a stranger because he was well acquainted with the "Stranger of Galilee" Among his most oft quoted Scriptures was Romans 8:28 "We all know that all things work together for good to them that love God....." , and since he was a train enthusiast, I wish to paraphrase that passage into railroad language, which reads:' " God's trains may run might close, but they never miss connection."br / And he really believed that/it .
