     BIOGRAPHY: "John F Price, Sr (father of Mary Euphemia Price), Little Rock [York?] is a native of the city of New York, his birth occurring December 2, 1816. He was the eldest son of Thomas and Catharine (Hunt) Price, who were also natives of New York, from whence they emigrated, in 1820, to Indiana, but later removed to Cincinnati, Ohio, where they both died.
     "They were parents of four children, of whom only John F is survivor. He was united in marriage February 2, 1837, to Miss Sarah Bachus, daughter of Henry and Anna Bachus, who were natives of Lancastershire, England, from whence they immigrated to the United States in 1831. 24
     "Seven children have been born to this family, as follows: SARAH A, who died in infancy; WILLIAM H, a professional teacher in special grades, and also attorney-at-law and notary public; MARY E (Mrs. Samuel Garriott); CHARLES T, pastor of the United Brethren Church, and also engaged in milling; EDWARD N, who is a contractor and builder at Elk City, Kan; ELIZABETH J (Mrs William T Morris), and JOHN F, who farms and raises stock. The mother, a lady loved and esteemed for her many virtues, departed this life November 9, 1879, and lies buried in the Mount Hebron Cemetery. Mr Price for many years has been one of the foremost men of Gibson Township. 24
     "In April, 1854, he came to Washington County, IN., and located on the site of his present home. Early in life he became a machinist, but since becoming a resident of the Hoosier State has turned his attention to saw and grist milling. He and his wife [were] members of the Methodist Episcopal Church, [was] a Republican in politics, and he and family [were] among the most honorable and influential families of the county." 24

     1880 WILL PROBATED: [Wash Co, IN Will Record C/505] Samuel H Garriott's will was probated 15 Jun 1868.


     1912 OBITUARY: AF Garriott Dead. Word was received here Sunday of the death of Augustus F Garriott, at his home in Los Angeles. Deatn occurred Saturday night. Mr Garriott was for a number of years a Druggist at Hartsville. He moved from there to Indianapolis, where he engaged in the wholesale business, and about ten years ago he moved to Los Angeles. He had been in failing health for the past few years. Mr Garriott married Miss Frankie Galloway, of Hartsville, and she and two children survive him.

     1923 OBITUARY: Mrs Mary Garriott, aged about 80 years, died at her home near Little York, Friday night. She was a sister of John, Charles, and Ed N Price. She had been a widow 55 years. Her funeral was at the Price Cemetery, Sunday.
