     1880 Bedford, Trimble Co, KY census: has Thomas E Garrett 29, Merchant; Jane E Garrett 32, Keeping House; Huston S Garrett 4; Thomas Garrett 2; John C Garrett 26 (Brother), Tobacco Agent; and Elizabeth Garrett 24, (B) Servant.
     1900 Sulphur, Henry Co, KY census: has (all b. KY) Thomas Garriott 50, Cashier-Bank; Mary Garriott 52 (3 children-2 living); Lucy Garriott 11; Joseph Shirley 78 (Father-in-Law); and Lucy Shirley 72 (Mother)(1 child-1 living).
     1920 New Castle, Henry Co, KY census: has (both b. KY) William H Abbott 50, Merchant-Store; and Willie V Abbott 46.
     On this same census page is (all b. KY) Edmonia Garriott 70 (Boarder, Widow) in the household of Orville Yager 36, Farmer-Farm; Anna Yager 46; and Kate Groves (Mother-in-Law, Widow).

     BIOGRAPHY: Jane Edmonia Shirley is the granddaughter of James Austin and Elizabeth Deel; great granddaughter of John Austin and Elizabeth Lindsay. John Austin [1736-1845] served as a private in Morgan's sharpshooters in the Revolutionary War. He died in Oldham Co, KY.

     Perrin's History
35 claims that Evan Garriott's property extended from Patton's Creek to Barebone Creek, edging the Fix property, where a post office named Corn Creek was established in 1878 in the town of Wise's Landing. About halfway up Middle Creek Valley, most of which was part of the Garriott estate, Mr Lazarus McDonald Scott managed about 500 acres of the farm of Mrs Thomas (Edmonia Shirley) Garriott, a widow for over 30 years.

     1902 OBITUARY: TE Garriott dead. Eminence, KY. Apr 26. TE Garriott, one of the wealthiest and best known financiers in Henry Co, and cashier of the Deposit Bank of Sulphur, died at one o'clock this morning at his home, aged about fifty-one years. The funeral will be conducted from the Christian Church tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock, the Rev EW Welcott, of this place officiating.
