     1916 OBITUARY: William F Garriott was born Jun 19, 1836, and died May 29, 1916 at his home northeast of town. He was married to Martha Burns in 1861, and to this union ten children were born, 5 boys and 5 girls. Eight children are living, who with their mother, mourn his death. After their marriage they lived 10 years in Missouri, then moved to Kansas, where they have resided. Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday morning, conducted by Rev Sam Jones. Interment was made at Jackson Cemetery.

     1934 OBITUARY: Martha Burns was born in Grant Co, KY February 6, 1840 and departed this life at Fall River, KS April 3 1934, aged 94 years, 1 month and 27 days. Martha Burns moved to Iowa when she was nine years of age and grew to womanhood in that state.
     In 1859 she was united in marriage to WF Garriott and to this union were born ten children, five daughters and five sons. Her husband, three daughters and one son preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing the four sons, Steve, Charles and Ira of Fall River, and Lewis of Fredonia; two daughters, Mrs GG Ryan of Fall River and Mrs HS Patterson of Minneapolis, KS; 29 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many other relatives and a host of friends.
     Mr and Mrs Garriott came to Kansas in the early '60s and homesteaded a farm about 5 miles northeast of Fall River. Here the family was born and reared. After the death of Mr Garriott in 1916, she made her home with her youngest son, Tom Garriott, until his death in 1928. Since that time she has made her home with her other children and passed away at the home of her son, Ira Garriott, near Fall River. She became a Christian at an early age and lived a consistent Christian life. At the time of her death she was a member of the Fall River Christian church.
     Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, April 5, at the Christian church, conducted by Rev CO Wilson, pastor of the Fredonia Christian church. Interment was in Jackson cemetery near New Albany.

     1969 OBITUARY: Mary Garriott, resident of Fredonia, passed away in Fredonia on Wednesday, June 18. She was the wife of Ira Garriott and he preceded her in death in 1960. She was born September 13, 1882, near Coyville, Kansas, the daughter of Lansing Gidley and Rachel Hayes. She was a housewife.
     She is survived by two brothers, JW Gidley of Wolf Point, Montana and Luke Gidley of Wallport, Oregon, one niece, Mrs Charles (Ruth) Ned of Coyville.
     Funeral services will be held Monday, June 23, 3 pm in the Coyville Christian Church with Rev David C Downing officiating. Interment will be in the Coyville cemetery under the direction of the Dunham-Timmons Funeral Home.
