     1920 OBITUARY: Alva Garriott, son of Harvey and Millie Garriott was born one-half mile south of Little York, 7 Jan 1901 and departed this life 11 Mar 1920, at the age of 19 years, 2 months and 4 days. He was a general favorite among the young people and to know him was to love him. He was always kind, loving and obedient to his parents and in his last sickness he bore his suffering so patiently and welcomed all who called to see him with a hand-shake and smile.
     He was a lover of farm life and took great interest in the farm and his plans were laid for his summer work. He was stricken with the dreaded disease, influenza about four weeks ago, along with the rest of the family, everything that medical aid and kind and loving hands could do was done, but God in His infinite wisdom seen fit to call him home.
     He was a member of the Little York ME Church. He was the second of the family to be called, one sister Irena having preceded him to the Great Beyond. He leaves to mourn his untimely death a devoted father and mother and three brothers, Grover, Harvey and Augustus, one sister, Bertha Nicholson, of Illinois and a host of friends and relatives.
