     1920 Trenton, Ward 2, Grundy Co, MO census: has Chas A Foster 61, b. WI, Ice Cream Manufacturing; WE Spiker 30, b. IL, Housekeeper, Laborer-Ice Cream Factory; Della Spiker 32, b. MO, Housekeeper-Private House; and Juddie Garrett 15, b. MO, Boarder.

     1913 DEATH: Doc Martin barbered in Halfrock, then Spickard. About 1907 he went to Trenton and barbered with Kentucky Jones on Tinsman Avenue until about 1911, when he went to St Joseph, MO, where he had a shop. On 19 Jul 1913, he had a fight with a man who cut him in the abdomen with a razor and killed him. Doc had apparently witnessed the man cheating a boy at cards and took him to task. Bodle Garriott and Andrew Smiley brought him back from St Joseph, Buchanan Co, MO, and buried him at Halfrock Cemetery.
