     1952 OBITUARY: Mrs George Garriott, 75, of Clinton, died at John Warner hospital at 8:30 pm Monday of a heart attack. Mrs Garriott had only been admitted to the hospital a short time before her death.
     She was born Feba Stella Malone, daughter of Peter and Lucretia (Buck) Malone, at Wapella, January 24, 1876, and was married to George Garriott at Clinton, April 21, 1901, who survives with the following children: Russell of Lincoln; Clifford of Sterling; Vernon of Flint, MI; Harold of Rollin, MO; Mrs Clifford Senison of Decatur, and Miss Harriet at home.
     Other survivors are a brother, John Malone, and two sisters, Mrs Esther Mandrell and Mrs Addie Todd, all of Clinton; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
     She was a member of the Free Methodist Church.
     She was taken to the Reeser-Herington funeral home. Funeral services will be held in the Free Methodist Church Thursday at 2 pm. Rev S D Phelps of Tower Hill, a former local pastor, will be in charge assisted by Rev Lawrence Strode. Burial will be in Tunbridge Cemetery.

     1954 OBITUARY: George Garriott Funeral Sunday. Funeral rites for the late George A Garriott, 79, Clinton, will be held at 2 pm Sunday in the Herington Funeral home. Rev Casper J Allen of the Baptist Church will officiate, and burial will be in Tunbridge Cemetery. Mr Garriott died at 10:30 pm Thursday in a hospital in East Moline.
     Mr Garriott was born in DeWitt County, July 31, 1875, a son of Henry and Nancy Roberts Garriott, and was married to Estella Malone, April 25 1901, at Clinton. She died in 1952.
     Surviving are four sons, Russell Garriott, Lincoln; Harold Garriott, Marshall, MI; Vernon Garriott, Flint, MI; Clifford Garriott, Sterling; and two daughters, Mrs Velva Shelson, Decatur, and Miss Hattie Garriott, Forsyth.
     Other survivors are a brother, Edward Garriott, and a sister Mrs Emma Bowers, both of Clinton; 11 grandchildren and nine great children. One daughter preceded him in death. Mr Garriott was a member of the Free Methodist Church.

     1991 OBITUARY: Clifford W Snelson, 77, of Decatur died 11:45 pm Wednesday (Sept. 18, 1991) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be 9:30 am Saturday in Graceland Cemetery with military rites conducted by VFW Post 99. There will be no visitation. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials: First United Methodist Church. Mr. Snelson was born in Mount Auburn on Dec. 25, 1913, son of Chester Henry and Amelia Elizabeth Whiteside Snelson. He was a farmer, a member of First United Methodist Church and an Army veteran of World War II. He married Velva Rosalie Garriott in 1937. Surviving are his wife; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

     2000 OBITUARY: Eugene Allen Garriott, 71, of Jacksonville, former Phoenix, died Sunday April 9, 2000, at St John's Hospital. He was born Sept 2, 1928, in Waynesville, the son of Russell and Bessie Troxal Garriott. He married Wanda Knox-Dennis in 1962 in Jacksonville. Mr Garriott worked as a firefighter in Jacksonville and also as a truck driver for several years. He was a member of Grace Methodist Church in Jacksonville and had served in the US Army during the Korean War.
     Survivors: wife, Wanda; a son, Bill (wife, Eva) Garriott of Summerville, SC; two daughters, Marjorie (husband, Randy) Brawner of Missouri and Kimberly (husband, James) Phillips of Tempe, AZ; a stepson, Donald R (wife, Jill) Dennis of Springfield; a stepdaughter, Denise Logsdon of Springfield; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister, Mary Gosda of Bloomington; a brother, Kenny (wife, Jenny) Garriott of Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews.

     2002 OBITUARY: Velva "Rosalie" Garriott was born 9 Feb 1918 to George Alexander and Estella "Phebe" Malone Garriott in De Witt County, Illinois. She married Clifford W. Snelson in 1937. They lived in Decatur, Illinois. She was employed at Janes Cleaners for many years. She died April 8, 2002, after a long illness and was buried at Graceland cemetery.
