     1930 Gibson Twp, Wash Co, IN census: has (both b. IN) James H Parker 48, Farmer-General Farm; and Bessie Parker 44.
     1940 Gibson Twp, Wash Co, IN census: has (all b. IN) James H Parker 58, Farmer-Farm; Bessie Parker 54; Ella M Hudson 75 (Mother-in-Law); and Eugene Purlee 18 (Hired Hand).

     BIOGRAPHY: Bessie's birth father, Thompson A Gardner [b. 1864, d. 7 Dec 1885- age 21, Louisville, KY], died by drowning in the Ohio River while awaiting a ferry boat to return him to Indiana after taking produce to Louisville. 7, 43 He died before Bessie was a year old. Thompson A Gardner is listed as being divorced from Lucy J Gardner on 26 Sep 1884, Wash Co, IN: Bk W/388, 409. This marriage would have been prior to his marriage to Bessie's mother, Ella Maude Garriott.
     Bessie married her first cousin, James H Parker, son of George Parker and Elizabeth Garriott. James H Parker is listed as grandson in James M "Uncle Jimmie" Garriott's will-- abstract dated 20 Mar 1890.
