     1952 OBITUARY: Orvey H Garriott dies late Monday. Well-Known Rural Mail Carrier Had Been Ill Two Weeks.
     Orvey H Garriott, 44, well-known Callaway County rural mail carrier and stockman, died about 5 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Callaway Hospital, where he had been admitted as a patient earlier in the afternoon. He had been ill for the past two weeks.
     Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Steedman Methodist Church. The Rev OB Hobbs officiated and burial was in the Steedman Cemetery.
     Born on April 21, 1907, near Portland, he was the son of the late Henry Fletcher Garriott and Mrs Belle Madison Garriott, who survives. He was married to the former Miss Dorothy Nichols near Steedman on June 16, 1928. He had operated a 40-acre stock farm near Steedman, where the family now lives, and had been a rural mail carrier for the past 26 years.
     He began his employment with the Post Office May 6, 1926, when he was 19 years old and was assigned to the Portland route for a few years before being transferred to the Steedman route. He was a member of the Callaway County Postal Employees Association.
     In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by four sons, Orvey Henry Garriott, Jr, Eugene and David Earl, all of the home, and Clyde Garriott, who is attending Bob Jones University in South Carolina; and two daughters, Miss Barbara Garriott of Fulton, and Mrs. Lena Belle Gallatin of Killeen, Texas.

     1990 OBITUARY: Mrs Barbara June Baise, 58, of Fulton died Wednesday, July 4, 1990, at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
     She was born June 3, 1932, in Steedman, the daughter of Orvey Henry and Dorothy Pearl Nichols Garriott. She was married Aug 13, 1971, in Mokane, to Clifford E Baise, Sr, who survives. Mrs Baise was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and the Gideons Auxiliary.
     Survivors include a son, Bradford Lee Snodgrass of Fulton; a daughter, Fonda Call of Auxvasse; two stepsons, Eddy Baise and Kenneth Baise, both of Fulton; four brothers, the Rev Clyde Garriott of Jefferson City, Orvey Henry Garriott Jr of Mokane, David Garriott of Williamsburg and Eugene Garriott of Marshall; a sister, Lena Belle Gallatin of Mokane; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren.
     Services will be 10 am Saturday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton, with the Rev Clyde Garriott officiating.
Burial will be in the Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fulton. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Gideons Society.

     2000 OBITUARY: Kent Scott Garriott, 34, Mokane, died July 26, 2000, at University of Missouri-Columbia Hospital and Clinics. He was born Aug 30, 1965, in Jefferson City, a son of Orvey and Suzanne Eastwood Garriott, who survive in Mokane.
     He worked at Mokane Market. He is also survived by one sister, Tonya Jo Garriott, Columbia.
     Services will be at 10 am Saturday at Maupin Funeral Home, Fulton. Bruce Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in Middle River Cemetery near Tebbetts. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm today.

     2003 OBITUARY: Orvey Henry Garriott, Jr, 69, Fulton, Missouri passed away Friday, October 3, 2003 at the Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was born May 10, 1934 in Steedman, Missouri the son of the late Orvey Sr and Dorothy Nichols Garriott. On June 15, 1955 he was united in marriage to Suzanne Eastwood. She survives at the home.
     In addition to his wife of 48 years he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one daughter Tonya Jo Garriott of Fulton; three brothers, Clyde Garriott of Jefferson City, Eugene Garriott of Sedalia, and David Garriott of Williamsburg; one sister, Lena Belle Gallatin of Mokane; four grandchildren; other relatives and many dear friends.  In addition to his parents, one son and one sister preceded him in death.
     Mr Garriott served his country in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. He worked as a Journeyman Bookbinder for over 40 years at the Von-Hoffman Press in Jefferson City. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
     Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at 10:00 am at the Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Brother Bruce Williamson officiating. Interment will be in Middle River Cemetery near Tebbetts, Missouri.

     2005 OBITUARY: Clifford Edwin Baise Sr, 73, of Mokane, died Tuesday, January 18, 2005, at Riverview Nursing Center in Mokane. He was born December 4, 1931, in Montgomery County, MO., the son of the late Robert Cleveland and Myrtle Ellen (Hickman) Baise. He married Barbara June Garriott on Aug. 13, 1971. She preceded him in death on July 4, 1990.
     He is survived by two sons, Eddie Baise and Kenneth Baise, of Fulton; two stepsons, Bruce Johnson, Columbia and Brad Snodgrass, Joplin; one stepdaughter, Fonda Call, Auxvasse; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
     Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan 22, at 11 am, at Debo Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

     Survivors include two sons, Eddie Baise and Kenneth Baise, of Fulton; two stepsons, Bruce Johnson of Columbia and Brad Snodgrass of Joplin; a stepdaughter, Fonda Call of Auxvasse; five grandchildren, Jesse Baise, Cory Baise, Kenda Baise, Kenneth Baise Jr, and Kathy Baise;  six step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
     Mr Baise worked in the maintenance department at Fulton State Hospital retiring in 1985. He had raised dairy goats. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.
     Services are at 11 am Saturday at Debo Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
