     1935 OBITUARY: Henry F Garriott of Steedman Dies: Native of Kentucky Had Been Resident of Callaway Since He Was 29.
     Henry F Garriott, 59 years old, of Steedman, died at his home Friday night, at 8:00 o'clock. Mr Garriott was born in Campbellsburg, KY, Feb 5, 1876, and moved to Callaway at the age of 29, and soon thereafter was married to Addie Belle Maddison, of Portland. He was the son of Mr and Mrs William Garriott. He is survived by one son, Orvy H Garriott, who is now living at the home in Steedman; two brothers, WR and Orvy P Garriott and two sisters, Mrs Mattie B Farley and Mrs Goldie Farley. The funeral will be held at the Steedman Methodist Church, Sunday afternoon, at 2:00 o'clock.

     1935 OBITUARY: HF Garriott Dies at Home Near Steedman: Well Known South Callaway Resident Passes Away After Five Years' Illness. Funeral On Sunday. Henry Fletcher Garriott died at his home north of Steedman Friday night, November 1, 1935, after a long and painful illness of cancer. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Steedman Sunday afternoon and burial took place in Steedman cemetery.
     Mr Garriott was the second son of William and Bettie Garriott and was born at Campbellsburg, Kentucky, February 5, 1876, he being 59 years, eight months and four days old at the time of his death.
     On May 16, 1906, he was united in marriage with Miss Bell Matteson of Portland who survives. One son was born to bless this union, Orvey Garriott of Steedman. He also leaves four grandchildren, two brothers, WR Garriott of Steedman and OP Garriott of Portland, and two sisters, Mrs Mattie Farley and Mrs Golda Farley, both of Steedman, and a number of other relatives and a host of friends to mourn his passing.
     Deceased professed faith in Christ and joined the Christian church at an early age. He bore his long suffering without a murmur and expressed himself as ready to go to his last reward. A good man is gone from his home community with the passing of Mr Garriott. The Missourian joins other friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
