     1887 MOTHER'S REMARRIAGE: Isabell (Bell) 2nd married John Jamison on 27 Sep 1887, Bartholomew Co, IN: Bk C12/156.

     CENSUS:
     1900 Columbus, Bartholomew Co, IN census: has (all b. IN) Belle Jamison 44, Washwoman (3 children-2 living); Lela Garriott 21, Housekeeper; and William Garret 18, Day Laborer.
     1920 Michigan City Ward 3, La Porte Co, IN census: has William Garrett 39, b. IN, Waiter, Prison, Prisoner in the Indiana State Prison.

     1902 REFORMATORY: William was sent to a reformatory near Muncie, Delaware Co, IN. He claimed to be 36 years old and was committed to state prison. The judge later found him to be 26 and sent him to the reformatory at Pendleton. Information given: White, single, b. IN, could read and write, smokes but does not chew, drinks, states he left home at 15 and 23, occupation-- idle [when he did work he was laborer and teamster], no associates. Someone wrote, "He escaped on 26 Jun 1903, and has been out of state in the employ of railroad company."

     1918 MOTHER'S OBITUARY: Mrs Belle Jamison, 62 years 7 mos. old, died at 9 o'clock this morning at the county infirmary and will probably be buried tomorrow afternoon. She is survived by a son and dau, the dau is Mrs Lela Wenning, of Indianapolis. [24 Aug 1918, Evening Repub?, Columbus, IN]  

     1918 STATE PRISON: William pled guilty to escaping from the Farm, and was sentenced to 2-5 years on 23 Sep 1918. His mother had just died the previous August. He was listed in the 1920 US Census as a resident of the State Prison, Michigan City, LaPorte Co, IN
