     1990 OBITUARY: Juanita Jane Garriott, 68, of Lafayette, died at 7:35 am Monday in St Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center. She had been in failing health since Jan 4 and hospitalized since March 3. Mrs Garriott was a member of American Legion Post 11 and Veterans of Foreign Wars 1154 auxiliaries. Born on 26 Nov 1921, in Lafayette, she had lived here most of her life. She married Lawrence E Garriott on 28 Feb 1948, in Alexandria, and he survives.

     2009 OBITUARY: Lawrence E Garriott, 90, of Lafayette, died at 10 pm Saturday, Sept 12, 2009, at St Elizabeth Central. He was born in Jasper County to the late Hurby and Lillie Hurley Garriott. He married Juanita Hall in Alexandria on Feb. 28, 1948. She died in 1990. He married Patricia J Crutchfield Cunningham in Gatlinburg, Tennessee in 1996, and she survives.
     Surviving with his wife are two stepsons, Steve Cunningham (wife: Charlotte) and Brad Cunningham (wife: Karen), both of Frankfort and two brothers, David M Garriott (wife: Norma) and Arlon Garriott, both of Lafayette. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sally, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
     He served in the US Army in the 989th Field Artillery Battalion as a staff sergeant during World war II. He received the EAME Theater Ribbon with 4 Bronze Stars and the Bronze Star Medal.
